Travel Day

Well...i'm as packed as one can be. If I forgot something then nothing I can do about it now! Car service will be here in a half hour. I'm so excited! What an amazing journey my life has been so far! I pray this will be a safe, productive, educational journey. I have already learned so much about myself excluding travel so actually seeing something new enhances what I have learned thus far. We are already beginning the trek with a sense of humor. Had I not questioned my father and the dates a little more, we would have showed up at the airport yesterday! LOL. Good thing the date error/confusion was clarified early enough. Today is indeed travel day.

I think I have closed out my apartment well. Nothing in the fridge that will reek in a power outage; batteries removed from the detectors (learned that trick after coming back to a beeping alarm post 21 day journey...lol); unplugged everything except the fridge of course; changed my bed and cleaned up so I have a clean, comfortable space to come back to God willing. Last entry before leaving. Not sure yet if I will purchase online time on the ship. If I do, I will only blog maybe three times a week so I can maximize online minutes. I still can't believe we will be living out of a 162 square foot cabin. Good thing we are only showering and sleeping there. The real fun is on the common decks and off ship. O.K. better log off so I can unplug the laptop. See you when I see you.

The Day Before the trip

I can't believe that tomorrow at this time I will be on a plane headed to Brazil to start this one month adventure. Who would ever think I would be taking this type of trip at this point in my life?!? Not me that's for sure. I still can't believe I will literally be gone for one month. The longest trip to date for me has been last year's visit to South Korea. I can't wait to see all of the countries like Spain, Turkey, and Senegal, The Gambia. Amazing! I hope the weather is on my side and that I packed correctly for this expedition. It's hard packing for all weather, formal, informal, etc in two suitcases. Basically packing your life in under 7olbs. LOL. I pray my luggage gets where it needs to be (with me) safely and that this is a smooth journey. Still working on closing up my apartment and making sure everything is in place. More before I go to bed. I'm so excited!
