The Race is On
I'm really excited and terrified all at the same time. My racing shirt arrived on Saturday and I am nowhere near ready to do 13.1 miles yet and in addition still have 85% of the fundraising goal to raise! I know I can do this race but I'm struggling a bit. I must remain focused.
What will give me even more motivation is the recent news piece about yet another airline picking on overweight people. I believe United Airlines has followed suit like other airlines by actually charging overweight people to pay for an additional seat if the passenger next to them is uncomfortable and complains! I am highly offended by this practice. While I don't have trouble with airline seats, I do know others who have. To single plus size people out and risk further possible embarrassment while traveling is a disgusting practice by the airlines to get even more money on their overpriced fares. Why don't they make the seats more comfortable and accommodating to begin with. Instead we get way too small, cramped arrangements with the added insult of reclining action to make us even more uncomfortable...especially if you have long legs like me and are stuck behind the ass who feels they should be able to recline as if though they are in their man chairs at home. I'm not saying I'm looking for luxury in the air (unless its first class) but come on! To have to pay double because you are not thin is truly an insult.
As for the race...it has been moved up by two weeks so even less time to train. I have to literally get my ass in gear and get extra disciplined with my eating. The eating portion gets tricky with these recent dates. Go figure I actually found some guys who can buy a sister a meal. LOL. I will just have to be extra special with what I order so that it doesn't take away from my goals.
OK...better go eat dinner. Will try to revisit this post later after catching up with email and letters I have to write. Later.
11:11 pm. So it's late so only going to spend about five minutes here. Got a great email from Josh and looking forward to picking his brain tomorrow about training techniques. He's an Ironman triathelete and has tons of knowledge to share. oh no..there goes the phone...gotta go.
