All Quiet on the LES Front
Another relatively quiet day for me. Just finished eating lunch and of course I want to take a nap. I'm a big advocate for naps. 15 to 20 minutes of closed eye time can do wonders for the brain. Since I didn't go work out yesterday due to the headache I will have to go today. Still have a slight headache but nothing to the magnitude of yesterday. I literally went home, at a small meal, and got into my bed. Even my stomach was bothering me but that can all be blamed on the massive volume of OTC drugs I took. Nothing was working.
J.W. just made me laugh. They have me working in an office that is really designed for one, maybe at best two people. There are three of us in here. Of course I'm stuck literally right in front of the a/c. J.W. comes into work with a thin piece of fabric with no sleeves and complains it's too cold in here. How about bring a sweater and make it a resident at your desk? LOL. The other day she was wearing the sweater and asked if the a/c could be turned cooler because she was hot. Um...duh...take off the sweater dingy...you are wearing another presentable shirt underneath. What do I know...I am but a mere substitute. I say to them all the time, just let me know in advance if I'll be sitting on top of the file cabinet or in the boiler room so I know how to dress. LOL. I need to modify my resume tonight after I get recycling together. There are two positions I want to go after. So much to do. Oh my.
Nothing major planned for the upcoming weeks. Volunteer stuff has been keeping me busy. Hopefully the group will nail down a fundraising initiative next month. Alot of them are procrastinators. Waste too much time talking but not enough time implementing or even making a decision. So frustrating. So much potential for collective good yet many just talk but don't indeed act.
News wise, I feel like I'm behind on well...everything. I do keep up with at least watching local and national news but lately it feels like its all the same. Repetitive. Nothing new. War, Oil, Nature's fury, senseless deaths, celebrity gossip. Nothing really new. One comment that I do have pertains to the Midwest states and all the flooding that have taken place there. I feel for all those people whose homes were destroyed. What irritates me a bit is that the President and Congress are promising immediate aid. When they say those things I always think about Hurricane Katrina. Did the government give up on New Orleans simply because the majority of folks displaced were Black? In my opinion, yes. It's always interesting to see who gets what aid after disasters. There are still so many disparities in the world.
O.K. better go. Only three more hours to go. I hope they go by in the blink of an eye. Just want to get workout over with so that I can get to some of my projects tonight...one of which includes washing my stinky hair (not smelly yet but I still have to go get my sweat on...lol). Later.
