It gets very difficult to rise on certain days but it is a blessing to be able to get up..and fall...and get up again. It's 2011...I'm still rising. What a wonderful gift that has been given to me! Not everyone gets that chance each day. It's been a crazy path for me on the road less traveled. I'd like to think that this journey through life is making me a really good person. With each day, a new thought, new action, newness. And with each beginning...still I rise.
I pray that God will keep them safe. Keep their families safe. Give them the strength and the courage to forge forward and get to the peak of the steep hill ahead. If I am dreaming...I don't want to wake up. What a wonderful feat! I got chills watching Barak's acceptance speech as he partially mirrored the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Change indeed is coming. Change for the better.

I like to describe myself as a diamond in the rough. Most people forget that diamonds started out as lumps of coal. Over time, that same lump turns into this beautiful, precious, desired object. Before the dazzling beauty, that single piece of carbon weathered the elements, retreated to darkness, revealed itself in light...and sparkles. I like to think of myself as the coal that's ready to sparkle.
