Yes Lord, I'm Listening

Headed out on a movie date but wanted to quickly share a really good moment that happened yesterday. I was waiting at the bus stop listening to music. I was headed to my volunteer shift. A well dressed, older black woman in her sixties crossed the street and approached me. She said she just got off the bus and asked me if I wanted her transfer pass that she would not be using. I graciously accepted. She added that she felt the need to come over to say hello to me as that "I was radiant". Wow! What a lovely compliment from a total stranger. We parted with warm words and she headed on her way. Her name is Mary. I asked her just before she walked away. I sat for a moment and said to myself just how amazing God really is. Yes Lord, I'm Listening. About a half hour earlier I was scrounging around for loose change from my piggy banks since I had failed to add money to my metrocard and didn't have time to go to the train station to fill it. I literally had a pocket full of nickels, dimes, and quarters in my pocket as I was waiting for the bus. Before I had left my space I was thinking what if change is all I'll have left after this latest unemployment wave. Will I ever have something to call my own. And then God reminded me that yes...I will be ok and that He is always watching over me even when nobody else has time. I'm getting a bit teary eyed just thinking back on this experience. I better go but tomorrow I'll share more on an additional ray of hope that occurred during my volunteer shift. I feel lucky that I am somewhat aware enough to listen to the small beats of life. OK...Later.
