In A New York Minute

It's the calm before the second storm. Sunny now but in about an hour there will be torrential rain. Yesterday was the longest and worst mass transit commute I have ever had in my life as a Brooklynite! Of course I was on the train when that mini blackout hit the subway...3:42 to be exact. I was on my way to a job interview nonetheless. I had a feeling earlier in the day that there would be trouble in the tunnels. Don't know how I knew but I just knew. I left home at 3pm and it I didn't get to my 5pm interview until 5:45 to be exact. Fortunately for me, I called ahead when I made it above ground around 4pm and called to let them know that I might be late due to the outage. The interviewer was very understanding. I landed a second interview! Sweet. Anyway, just making dinner now...not much to tell these days. I am enjoying the quiet days though. Maybe more later.

The Rain is Coming

Lightening in the air. Very short post. Thuder claps are close. Time to turn off everything! Yesterday I was trapped in the subway when the power went out. Tell you more when there is no more thunder and lightening. Big booms now. I'm scared and excited all at the same time! Later.

Busy Little Bee

Been slightly busy the past two days. Have two interviews this week. Not feeling too nervous which is good. In fact, I feel really strong and calm. One of my professors has a good lead on a position that hasn't even been created yet. He thinks I would be a good match to this particular organization. The mission and vision is very intriguing. Let's see what happens. I got laundry done today. It's been just about two years since i've been to the laundromat. The funny thing is, it didn't even bother me that now I must go back to doing laundry like that. I feel a sense of power knowing that no matter what challenges are thrown my way I can take care of myself and roll with the punches. It's going to be mad hot the next few days. I want to clean the filter on the a/c again. O.K. don't feel like writing much right now. Will revisit in a few hours.
